The Holy Monastery of Toplou in Sitia was founded in the 14th century AD and is located at the easternmost tip of Crete. One of the monks’ main activities has traditionally been the cultivation of vineyards and the production of renowned wines, without the use of pesticides. Today, continuing a monastic tradition and experience that spans centuries, indigenous and international grape varieties are organically cultivated across 350 acres of vineyards. With exceptional care, the grapes are vinified in modern facilities with advanced expertise and dedication, offering the high-quality organic wines of TOPLOU.
Tasting Notes
Complex on the nose, with dominant aromas of rose, strawberry, and cherry, accompanied by subtle notes of apricot. A medium-bodied wine with a very soft finish and lingering cherry notes on the palate.
