The portable icon of the Virgin Mary in the iconographic type of “Rodon to Amaranton” (The Unfading Rose) from 1771, a work by the hagiographer Stamatios the Cretan, is considered one of the most important and sacred relics kept in the Reliquary of the Holy Monastery of Toplou in Sitia. Its sight evokes devotion and awe in visitors. The figure of the Virgin Mary is depicted in rosy colors. She is the one who sprouted the unfading rose, Christ.
With the blessings of the Lady Akrotiriani, in the organic vineyards of the Monastery, the ancient indigenous red variety Liatiko has been cultivated for centuries, offering us this eponymous wonderful rosé wine.
